*Since we’re here together, I wanted to point out that this first sentence is a leading question: it only offers a yes/no response. In a newsletter this is perfectly acceptable, but it is limiting in the coaching environment. A good open question is wide, curious, and leaves a big area for the other person to fill in. Yes and no don’t have a place in an open question. So, a more open question to replace what I’ve written would be “what comes to mind when I say “powerful coaching questions?”” Or “what is a great open question that you could use to get someone talking?” Every moment is a teaching moment, y’all!
